W Brisbane’s Living Room Bar is unveiling an immersive experience with a transformed space and new cocktail menu to bring guests an evening of Sensory Sips in collaboration with Loose Collective.
Multi-disciplinary Art and Design studio, Loose Collective, has created a breathtaking collection of completely bespoke installations and motion graphics to transform Living Room Bar into a wonderland of light, sound and visual art, which will be unveiled on 18th August 2023.
In conjunction with the design, Living Room Bar has created a new range of cocktails in collaboration with Brown-Forman distillery, using a variety of their quality spirits throughout the menu to curate creative recipes that will enhance the guest’s immersion in the space.
When tasked with creating a visual design for the space, Loose Collective drew inspiration from W Brisbane’s existing design with the complex patterns and curation of art found within the hotel’s interiors and the sophisticated ambience, drawing on elements that resonated with them and sparked their creative process. The team built upon the existing atmosphere to create a mood where guests can expect to experience awe, wonder and curiosity.
The installations have been crafted using intricate designs and hypnotic lighting effects through cutting edge motion graphics and audiovisual sculptures to create a magical escape for guests, projecting alluring patterns across the floor, ceiling and bar to feel all encompassing. Based on one of Imaginaria’s most popular concepts, ‘Light Lines’ is the centrepiece of the installation, featuring 400 suspended medical-grade silicon vines to create a mesmerising light array that oscillates to produce a floating appearance. All installations have been constructed from the ground up by a team of experts in Brisbane as bespoke art pieces for the hotel.
Enhanced by the sensory experience, the cocktail menu curated by the expert mixologists at Living Room Bar aims to capture the magical nature of mixology with a range of experimental drinks created with Brown-Forman alcohol brands. New recipes include The Magician, a nutty, herbal and rich cocktail made with BenRiach Smoky 10 Whisky, Fernet Branca Menthe, Frangelico, Cocoa Nib and Bloody Mary Drops that looks as though it is floating, crafted to take the mind on a wondrous journey. The Illusionist on the other hand is floral, zesty and fresh made with Gin Mare, Massenez Violet, White Chocolate Bitters, Hibiscus, Coconut, Lemon and Butterfly Pea Ice, creating a deception of colours and a tantalising blend of flavours.
The new menu also includes non-alcoholic options such as the Ballerina, a fruity, fizzy and delicate concoction made with NON 5 Lemon Marmalade and Hibiscus, Lyre’s London Dry, Lemon and Lychee Foam, unveiled through a dramatic projection of light cascading stars.
Sensory Sips at Living Room Bar will be launching on 18th August 2023 and is set to continue its collaboration and evolution across a six month period. The next phase of the evolution will see the dynamic display further brought to life with interactive elements and events programming.
