Banyan Tree Group, a leading global hospitality company, is proud to announce the highly anticipated launch of its groundbreaking Stay For Good programme. This unique initiative aims to provide travellers with authentic and immersive experiences that foster a profound connection with each destination while honouring local communities’ rich heritage and traditions. With a commitment to creating opportunities and making a positive impact, the Stay For Good programme is set to revolutionize how people travel.
Designed as a multi-brand initiative, the Stay For Good programme will take discerning travellers on a captivating journey to some of the world’s most extraordinary and lesser-known destinations. From the time-honoured traditions and crafts of Kyoto, Japan, to the captivating colonial architecture and cultural riches of Puebla, Mexico, this program offers diverse experiences that cater to every traveller’s desires.
One of the programme’s highlights is the enchanting retreat of Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape. Here, guests can immerse themselves in the local way of life by visiting the nearby Singaperang Village. Led by a knowledgeable farmer, they will embark on a fascinating tour of his land, discovering and foraging for native fruits and edible plants, including winged beans, peppercorns, and cemcem leaves. Furthermore, guests will have the chance to savour the pure taste of raw honey from stingless bees and indulge in traditional local delicacies meticulously crafted by the farmer’s wife.
Another extraordinary experience awaits at Garrya Nijo Castle Kyoto, where guests will delve into the remarkable history of Japan’s traditional architecture. With a lineage from over 2,000 years to the Jomon period, Japanese homes have long been adorned with environmentally friendly, grass-based thatched roofs known as kayabuki. As part of this immersive encounter, guests will explore a traditional home featuring a stunning thatched roof and, under the guidance of an expert, learn the intricate process of creating one by carefully tying susuki grass together.
In the charming city of Puebla, Mexico, guests at Banyan Tree Puebla can venture into the nearby rural village of San Jerónimo Tecuanipan. Here, they will be introduced to Casita de Barro, an establishment that embraces sustainable living and shares traditional farming methods with the local community. This enlightening experience offers an authentic glimpse into the essence of rural life while fostering a deep appreciation for the interconnectedness of humans and nature.
The Stay For Good programme encompasses a wide range of meticulously curated activities and experiences offered by the esteemed Banyan Tree Group. Travellers can embark on a captivating journey through the enchanting bamboo forests of Anji in China, immerse themselves in the vibrant Nyonya heritage of Penang, Malaysia, or explore the captivating traditions of the minority Muslim community in Krabi, Thailand. Each experience has been thoughtfully designed to engage guests, provide meaningful connections with local communities, and offer a sustainable approach to travel.
Adhiyanto Goen, the Head of Communications of Banyan Tree Group, emphasized the profound vision behind the Stay For Good programme. “We firmly believe that travel should transcend beyond a mere vacation.
