An outstanding vintage predicted for Hunter Valley red and white wines will be celebrated at the region’s premier Hunter Valley Wine & Beer Festival at Lovedale on Saturday 24 June.

The festival will be held between 11am – 5pm at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley (formerly Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley).

A line-up of over 50 premium wine, beer and spirit produces will offer tastings throughout the day, complemented by food outlets, entertainment and plenty of family-friendly activities.

Hunter Valley wineries will have plenty to celebrate after an unsure start to the vintage turned near perfect by the end of the 2023 harvest, with Scarborough Wines’ viticulturist Liz Riley labelling 2023 as a “stunning vintage for both reds and whites” and Margan Wines’ chief, Andrew Margan, rating it “10 out of 10”.

An exciting range of established and boutique Hunter Valley wineries will be offering their wines for tasting, along with local breweries and some of the region’s most exciting distillers.

In between tastings (which will also include local cheese and other artisan products), festival-goers can enjoy live entertainment, foods from a wide range of providores, and the opportunity to relax in the spacious grounds of the Rydges Resort.

The Hunter Valley Wine & Beer Festival is a family-friendly event, with children receiving complimentary entry to the Festival, where they can enjoy a variety of activities including a jumping castle, train rides, and face painting.

There is plenty of onsite parking at Rydges Resort and for visitors staying in the Hunter Valley over the weekend, Vineyard Shuttles is providing return transfers from local accommodation to the festival for just $20 pp. Bookings can be made via 02 4991 3655 or [email protected].au.

Once again, the Festival will support the local Rural Fire Service, with fundraising activities on the day.

General admission tickets are available for $15pp ($25pp on the day) through Moshtix (booking fees apply). Children have free access to the event when accompanied by parents.

Tastings are available for $2 each (30ml wine, 100ml beer/cider). Cans of beer will also be available for purchase.
