According to a new survey conducted by dnata Travel, a long-serving travel provider in the UAE, Europe is the most desired destination for UAE travellers planning their summer holiday in 2023. Of the thousands of respondents, 43% expressed their desire to visit Europe, with the Indian Ocean islands in second place at 20%.
The survey also revealed that the most popular countries on travellers’ bucket lists include Switzerland, the Maldives, and Turkey. Interestingly, 28% of respondents plan to book their leisure travel two to six months in advance, a significant shift from the previous years, where travellers typically book their trips only days or weeks.
In addition, the survey showed that more travellers are booking extensive holiday packages, with 37% of respondents adding “all-inclusive” as part of an ideal travel package in 2023. Respondents also planned to travel in July 2023, with other travel peaks expected in April, June, August, and December.
Meerah Ketait, Head of Retail and Leisure at dnata Travel, commented on the survey results: “We conducted our latest survey at a time of high demand, with every expectation that this will continue to grow. Locations like Europe are popular for the diverse landscapes, from a modern or historic city break to a beach escape or an island retreat. Experiences focused on wellness and nature are also trending for travellers in 2023.”
Based on the survey results and overall booking trends, dnata Travel experts are sourcing a more comprehensive range of extensive holiday packages for 2023, working with their partners worldwide. For example, Club Med’s premium all-inclusive “summer mountain” offering in Europe will be a focus for the team this summer, along with beach resorts in Turkey and beyond.
