A stay at NRMA Murramarang Beachfront Holiday Resort is featured in a new multi-day hike that traverses the New South Wales south coast launched by the state’s National Parks as part of the NSW Great Walks program this week.

The beachside Murramarang National Park is the star attraction of the new three-day, 34-kilometre walking adventure that starts at picturesque Pretty Beach north of Batemans Bay and features accommodation options – including NRMA Beachfront Holiday Resort – along the way.

The first walkers on the South Coast Walk will depart on April 28 this year, with pre-booked camping or cabin stays at NRMA Murramarang Beachfront Holiday Resort available for the second night along the route.

The bush route weaves along the coastline – famous for its secluded sandy beaches and coves, rugged headlands and rock platforms, as well as extensive spotted gum forests and sheltered rainforest gullies – past Depot Beach and Durras Beach before finishing at Maloneys Beach.

Walkers can expect to encounter abundant wildlife along the way, with iconic eastern grey kangaroos dozing on beaches, more than 90 bird species –including sea eagles, shearwaters, petrels, peregrine falcons and a penguin colony – and migrating whales during the winter months.

The Murramarang South Coast Walk is located on First Nations Yuin Country and the region has a rich Aboriginal cultural heritage for visitors to discover.

“Murramarang National Park is outstandingly beautiful and one of the best hidden gems in the State, now featuring the longest uninterrupted coastal walk on the South Coast,” Mr Griffin said.

NRMA Parks and Resorts Chief Executive Officer Paul Davies said the organisation was delighted to feature as the accommodation partner in the latest NSW Great Walk.

“We’ve seen a great uptake and interest in immersive nature walks over the past few years and the Murramarang South Coast Walk offers walkers a wonderful chance to discover the region’s undisturbed coastline, abundant wildlife and First Nations culture,” Mr Davies said.

“At NRMA we value offering our guests an easy interaction with the great outdoors, so this new partnership is a very natural alliance for us,” he said.
