The remote beauty of Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef on the Coral Coast of Western Australia is now more accessible, with direct Qantas flights from Melbourne to Exmouth/Warnangoora.

The twice weekly service will save Victorian and eastern State travellers more than three hours of flying, delivering travellers to Exmouth much faster by removing the layover in Perth/Boorloo. The first flight launches on 30 April 2023, with direct passage from Melbourne Tullamarine to Learmonth Airport near Exmouth, the gateway to Ningaloo Reef/Nyinggulu.

To celebrate the launch of Qantas’s new direct flights, Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef is offering free transfers from Learmonth Airport for new bookings in 2023. Book by 14 April 2023 and travel between 1 August to 30 November 2023 to be eligible for this offer. Guests can pre-book transfers and simply quote their Qantas flight number to the Sal Salis reservations team.

Nestled amongst the sand dunes of Cape Range National Park, Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef, operated by Journey Beyond, is an exclusive eco-luxury safari camp with 16 premium wilderness tents. Overlooking the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef, the diversity of marine life here is incredible, with over 250 types of coral and 500 species of fish.

“This is a significant development for the region,” said Luke Walker, Executive General Manager of Sal Salis Ningaloo Reef. “In 2022, Exmouth received national recognition after being named Australia’s Top Small Tourism Town, and it’s clear that Australians have a keen interest in exploring this beautiful part of the world. We look forward to sharing Sal Salis’s incredible beauty and providing exceptional experiences for our guests.”

As an all-inclusive stay, guests are encouraged to make the most of their time at Sal Salis. After touching down directly form Melbourne, guests will discover the camp’s white sand, turquoise water, abundant marine life, rugged coastline and seaside experiences. The social heart of the camp is the lodge, where guests enjoy gourmet dining with regionally sourced, chef-prepared meals served communally each night. Expect contemporary plates featuring fresh, seasonal produce, sourced locally with hints of the bush and ocean, paired with excellent Western Australian wines, regional beers, and other beverages.

The new direct Qantas flights will operate from April until October, the region’s high season. Along with these direct travellers, Sal Salis welcomes two marine species during this period as they migrate along the coast. From April to July, whale sharks migrate past Ningaloo Reef, with the region currently holding the world’s highest rate of whale shark swims and interaction in the world. From July to October, approximately 30,000 humpback whales travel along Ningaloo’s coast as they return to their Antarctic feeding grounds. Ningaloo Marine Park is the only place in Western Australia where you can swim with these gentle giants.

Sal Salis’s 2024 season is now on sale. Humpback and whale share swims have limited availability, so book your stay early to avoid disappointment. Discover more at salsalis.com.au.
