Celestyal CruisesCelestyal, the leading provider of travel to the Greek Islands and Eastern Mediterranean, has exciting news for all cruise enthusiasts. The company has confirmed the acquisition of a new ship, the 1,260-guest Celestyal Journey. Formerly known as Ryndam, the vessel will undergo an extensive €20 million refurbishment and technical maintenance overhaul before entering service.

According to Chris Theophilides, CEO of Celestyal, the company’s growth plans were put on pause due to global events in the past few years. However, with a positive industry outlook and strong bookings for the coming season, the acquisition of new vessels can recommence. The addition of Celestyal Journey to the fleet is a significant step towards fleet renewal, providing guests with an exceptional Mediterranean cruise experience.

The refurbishment of Celestyal Journey will include the addition of numerous bar and dining options, expansive open decks, spacious public areas, and staterooms. Furthermore, the ship will feature a considerable increase in premium and balcony staterooms, which have been in high demand on all of Celestyal’s voyages.

The ship will undergo its capital expenditure program in the wider Piraeus ship repair zone area. Details regarding the onboard experience and itineraries will be announced shortly. With the addition of Celestyal Journey, the company aims to offer an enhanced Mediterranean cruise experience to its guests.

This acquisition is a testament to Celestyal’s commitment to providing travellers with a premium cruising experience. As the demand for cruising picks up, the company is making strides to strengthen its position as a leading provider of travel to the Greek Islands and the Eastern Mediterranean.
