Aspen Hospitality and Continuum Partners Join Forces to Bring Limelight to Denver.
Continuum Partners, a Denver-based real estate developer, has announced a strategic joint venture with Aspen Hospitality, the hospitality division of Aspen Skiing Company. The partnership will see the conversion of Hotel Born in Denver to Limelight Hotel in 2023, the first urban hotel for the Limelight brand. With a growing Limelight portfolio that includes properties in Aspen, Snowmass, and Ketchum, the move into the city of Denver is a natural fit for Aspen Hospitality as it expands its brand beyond mountain and ski locations into an urban market.
The hotel features 200 guest rooms, 40 of which are suites, and 14,000 square feet of class-A meeting space. The Limelight brand will update all guest rooms in conjunction with the transition, and the restaurant offering may be re-conceived as part of the conversion. The new ownership group will ensure a seamless transition for hotel staff and guests, and the partners are excited to embrace the local character of the Denver market.
Continuum Partners, who developed Hotel Born in 2017, will retain exclusive ownership of the adjacent mixed-use property, Block A, which includes an office building, two leased retail spaces, and the Tavernetta and Sunday Vinyl restaurants operated by Frasca Hospitality Group. The sale of an interest in the hotel marks the beginning of its future conversion to Limelight Denver under the operation of Aspen Hospitality.
The partnership between Aspen Hospitality and Continuum Partners represents a unique opportunity for both parties, with Aspen Hospitality bringing its brand equity with high-value travellers to the partnership and Continuum Partners stewarding the legacy of the property. When the transition is complete, Limelight Denver will join the growing Limelight portfolio, with additional hotels set to open in Boulder, Colorado, and Mammoth, California.
