This year, U.S. based luxury and experiential travel brand, Tauck, is well-positioned to further build upon its success in Australia, with near-record pre-season bookings, and strong interest from past guests and new-to-Tauck travellers, following a dramatic rebound from Covid.

David Clark, Managing Director Australia, said,

“Our staged restart has paved the way for our success in Australia and around the world. Here in Australia, we have been continuing to grow our existing customer base and remind agents of our unique value proposition. Our phenomenal growth in Australia last year, has given us the experience, resources and momentum to confidently move forward into 2023. There are always challenges, but we’re very optimistic for the future and, of course, in this region in particular.

“During its 2022 operating season, Tauck hosted guests in 61 different countries on all seven continents, operated within 5% of 2019 levels on its North America, Europe, Bridges and river cruising itineraries combined, earned guest satisfaction scores in line with 2019 levels, and achieved near record-high advanced bookings for 2023,” said Clark.

Following the pandemic, the worldwide leader in guided holidays offered its exceptional range of land journeys, small ship cruises, rivers cruises, family adventures and small group tours, which have been a hit in Australia.

“We’ve been finding that Australians really resonate with our unique product offering. After coming through the pandemic, they want to book with an established brand.  Australians want to experience something unique, with exclusive access or a special ‘behind the scenes’ element, that can only be organised with local, insider’s knowledge. They know what they want from a holiday experience and don’t want to waste any time,” said Clark.

Making predictions for 2023, Clark noted that:

  • Luxury and experiential is King

Guests are looking for intimate, personalised and exclusive access to destinations and attractions. They want a travel provider who can arrange unique, one-of-a-kind experiences that are off the beaten track.

  • Europe is booming

Tauck is seeing incredible demand for river cruises that sail the Rhine, Douro, Danube, Rhône or Seine. Much-loved European destinations such as Germany, Italy, Spain and Portugal continue to be popular with Aussies.

  • The front of the plane is getting full

An increased number of Tauck’s guests are booking business class air travel, or at the very least some of the amazing premium economy products out there, including Emirates’ new Premium Economy Cabin Class.

  • North America will come back strongly in 2023

National parks such as Yellowstone, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon will see growth. Tauck’s itinerary to America’s Canyonlands has been one of the strongest selling Tauck tours in Australia in the past and we are seeing this popularity come back in 2023 and 2024.

Tauck creates enriching travel experiences that broadens a traveller’s knowledge of the world around them.  Embarking on journeys throughout the globe, Tauck has an extensive library of land tours for any style of travel.  Every point of a Tauck tour is meticulously planned, from the airport transfers, private activities and luxurious accommodation.
