World-renowned climatologist Michael Mann says, ‘we are not helpless,’ in the face of climate change, and in his 2023 Australian and New Zealand tour ‘Clarity on Climate: Beyond Net Zero’, he will candidly discuss the next steps in combating climate change.
Think Inc. is thrilled to bring you world-renowned climate scientist Professor Michael Mann live on stage in May/June 2023. He will visit Sydney, Auckland, Melbourne and Brisbane to delve into what science says need to be done to secure a better future.
Additionally, the meet-and-greet opportunity and live event will be offered virtually, so everyone, no matter where in the world, can learn from the influential Climate Change leader.
Thanks to man-made climate change, our future holds sea levels rising to 2.5 meters, higher global temperatures, and longer, more extreme weather events.
How we got here isn’t a mystery, but luckily, what we need to do next isn’t.
From high-level actions global powers and corporations must adopt to lower-level ones everyday people can implement, Michael will guide you through what science says must be done.
He has reshaped our understanding of historical global temperatures, showing what humanity will face if global warming continues unabated. As a climatologist, geophysicist, and director of the Earth System Science Centre, he has revolutionised our understanding of global warming.
As a member of the organising committee chair for Frontiers of Science, Michael was part of the National Academy of Sciences in 2003. His accomplishments include being named one of Scientific American’s fifty most influential visionaries in science and technology in 2002. Michael’s work has contributed significantly to our understanding of historical global temperatures and where we may be headed.
He pioneered the statistical work that led to the creation of the now-famous Hockey Stick Graph, authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications, was elected as a Fellow of the Committee for Sceptical Inquiry and was awarded the Hans Oeschger Medal by the European Geosciences Union. As the director, he oversees various initiatives at the University of Pennsylvania’s newly created Center for Science, Sustainability, and Media.
Michael is also a best-selling author of The New Climate War, The Madhouse Effect, The Hockey Stick and the Climate Wars.
“We’re not helpless in the face of human-induced climate change. We’re just misinformed,” says Michael.
Don’t be disheartened – we’re on the right track. Now it’s about laying a path towards a better future. Come along to see what it looks like.
