Bitcoin has become very popular among internet marketers, and e-traders and many reputable universities have started to accept it as a means of payment. This allows people from all over the world to directly fund their education degrees using this creative method. However, this is still relatively new, and only a few universities have adopted this payment method. Here are the top seven schools and universities.

  1. European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) Berlin, Germany

The ESMT in Berlin, Germany, is the first primary university in Germany to accept Bitcoin for its executive education and degree certification programs. Reports posted on the assignmenthelper.com.au explains that this is based on the immediacy of the digital currency and the ease of transfer since bitcoin transactions are cleared within minutes compared to the weeks or months that credit card payments may take. ESMT is one of Germany’s best business schools offering courses in tech, including a Master’s degree in Digital Technology and Innovation.

  1. The University of Cumbria, UK

This is the first university in the United Kingdom to accept cryptocurrency payment for its tuition fees. This announcement was made in January 2014 during a press interview and claimed to be the first public university in the world to do so. This university is renowned for further education and employment in the North West. The university also has campuses in North West Lake and London.

  1. The King’s College New York, USA

The King’s College is a Christian Liberal Arts College in New York. It admits students from all over the world and has more than 500 students. It is one of the US’s first universities to accept bitcoin as a form of payment for tuition and save around 3% in transaction fees compared to credit cards. This school signed an agreement with Coin.co in 2016 to facilitate cryptocurrency transactions. Since then, they’ve been accepting bitcoin for paying tuition, submitting donations, and dealing with other expenses.

  1. University of Nicosia, Cyprus

The University of Nicosia in Cyprus started accepting bitcoin payments for its tuition and other fees in November 2013. This is the largest university in Cyprus and has become instrumental in internalizing higher education. It has its main campus in Nicosia, the Cyprus capital, and has become a popular destination for many international students worldwide.

  1. FPT University, Vietnam

This payment method was initially available exclusively to international students, making FPT University the first Vietnamese university to accept bitcoin for payment. It’s also the first Vietnamese university to get a three-star rating from the QS World University Ranking System, receiving five stars in the four main categories; teaching, facilities, social responsibility, and employability. Several uni assignment writers have noted that this is one of the best schools in Vietnam and is also a favourite destination for students from different parts of the world.

  1. The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Switzerland

This Switzerland university, founded in 1997, offers courses in both German and English. This school specializes in education in financing, economics, international management, animation, art, music, and 2D or 3D designs. This public vocational university in Switzerland announced in 2017 that it now accepts payment in bitcoin for class tuition. Additionally, the university stated that it would not be transacting directly in bitcoin, but its bitcoin transactions are contracted to Bitcoin Suisse AG through its online payment system, which looks like an e-banking portal.

This means that the university can accept bitcoin without owning the digital currency. Once every week, or even daily, if they reach the CHF 10,000 barrier, the payments are converted to Swiss Francs. Other factors at play, such as currency fluctuations and exchange rates, are part of the responsibility of Bitcoin Suisse AG. The payment fee incurred by the customer is only 1%, and this can only mean that this university is sheltered from currency fluctuations and exchange rate losses.

  1. Varna University of Management, Bulgaria

Varna University of Management is the only reputable college in Bulgaria that offers bitcoin scholarships. Students can apply for an undergraduate degree at this institution and get up to $1,000 in bitcoin scholarships based on their history. Conclusion

For many years, cryptocurrency has been the cause of controversy in many quarters, making mass adoption harder. However, as schools have started to adopt bitcoin as their payment method, it’s only a matter of time before it becomes the norm.
