Art lovers can prepare to pin their location of the art festival of the year, “Cultural District 2021: The Art Festival for the opening of Rattanakosin Island” under the theme of “Storied Structure: Architecture Awe of Old Town Bangkok” held by Museum Siam. The festival turns the historical quarters to the hub of creative arts inviting all to the experience of the world of art combined with technology. You will be in awe with the art exhibition and market together with various highlights and activities which will inspire you and make you enjoy the history of Rattanakosin Island. This event is free of charge for the whole month from 1st October 2021 onwards at Museum Siam, Sanam Chai Road, Tha Tien, Bangkok (accessible via Sanam Chai MRT Station, Exit 3.
Interesting 5 highlights of this Cultural District 2021 are as follows:

· Glass Plate Photography Exhibition The technological innovation and analogical look-back of buildings in Rattanakosin Island. This “Civilized Siam through Collodion Photography” exhibition is organized by Mr. Tuppawut parinyapariwat of RED LIGHT LAB STUDIO, an analogue photo studio which helps you to look back 100 years. The exhibition is on the 1st floor of Museum Siam and is held all month long from 1st-31st October 2021, 10am – 6pm.
· Street Art Exhibition on the photo shoots of People in Pak Klong Talad Quarter This exhibition presents the stories of “people” and “History” of Pak Klong Talad Quarter through the Photo Exhibition of “Nui” Sasamon, the young female street photographer and an alumna of MA in Vernacular Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, Silpakorn University who was in the team of students initiating the FB Page: Humans of Flower Market. The exhibition is held from 15th to 17th October 2021, 10am -8pm. This comes with the flower arrangement workshop by expert florists from Flower Land and Dokmaai.com from 15th – 17th October 2021 held 2 rounds daily (limitation of 20 persons per round).
· Animation Showcase & Workshop Have a look at a different world through the animations from 50 artists of the new generaltion as well as the Animation Workshop from 15th-17th October 21021, 10am – 6pm at the Multipurpose Building.

· Art & Lighting Installation from 15th – 17th October 2021, 7pm – 9pm. This consists of 2 shows by 27 JUNE STUDIO. The first is Project Mapping: In Praise of Cultural Heritage on Museum Siam building. This is carried out with Projection Mapping technology on different parts of the building to take the audience to enjoy its beauty and history. The other is Interactive Swing projecting the art on a swing through an interactive and real-time generative graphic which let the audience create an art on the objects or swing together to create an art.
The event schedule is subject to changes according to COVID-19 prevention measures and announcement from the government.
· Online Seminar telling the stories of Rattanakosin Island through image, taste, smell, and sound. This starts from 1st October 2021 on Facebook Page: Cultural District Bangkok. This seminar consists of interesting topics such as Indulging in Old Times through Renovated Hotels in Bangkok by Mr. Weera-ath Chin-issariyayot of Inn A Day and Mr. Surin panyatpiyapot of Kacha Bed, Looking Back at Siam through Collodion Photography by Mr. Tuppawut parinyapariwat of RED LIGHT LAB STUDIO, and Strolling through the Town, Reading Socio-history through Architecture Heritage by Dr. Kriangkrai Kerdsiri, Faculty of Architecture, Silpakorn University.
