October is the time of the year when Penangites embrace their inner German at Penang’s first authentic German Beer Festival. This will be the first Oktoberfest held on the beach of Golden Sands Resort in Batu Feringgi, on
Wednesday, 17 October 2018 from 6:00 p.m. onwards. Sigi’s Bar & Grill and part of the beach will be transformed into a traditional Bavarian village setting, complete with wooden floors for traditional German tapping dance, wooden tables and benches. Even the performing act and music is authentic German, with the 5-member of Franker Rauber live band flying directly from Munich to keep everyone with repertoire of rock, traditional folk and popular Oktoberfest hits.

The fare is traditional German, including the likes of sauerkraut to accompany the traditional German grilled sausages, chicken schnitzel, roasted whole chicken, cheese and herbs spaetzli, beef goulash and beef Vienna, beef steaks and a list of dessert including black forest cake, apple strudel, pretzel and kaiserschmarrn (pancake with Apple sauce). The lager and wheat beer you can expect to be flowing that evening include well-known brands such as Erdinger and Lowenbrau. There is also a variety of German wines-red, white and sparkling to be enjoyed. Plenty of classic Oktoberfest games like the Dance and Beer drinking challenge.

For a memorable evening full of food, beer, wine, culture and tradition, make you way to Oktoberfest at Sigi’s and embrace your inner German! Donning a lederhosen or dirndl is optional.

The Oktoberfest Buffet Dinner is priced at RM99 nett per adult and RM50 nett per child. For enquiries and reservations, please call (604) 886 1852. Visit our website at: http://www.shangri-la.com/penang/goldensandsresort/
