Spread the love

Tauck, the U.S.-based leader in upscale guided tours, European river cruises, small ship ocean cruises, and family travel adventures, has announced the return of respected industry colleague and much-loved personality Helen Eves. Eves will reprise her role as Tauck’s National Account Manager for Australia.
Reporting to Country Head David Clark, Eves will help Tauck boost its presence across the continent. “With the opening of Australian borders and the restart of international tourism for Australians, the timing was ideal to bring back one of Australia’s leading account managers,” said Clark. “We’re so excited to have Helen again supporting our key trade partners and growing Tauck’s presence and awareness across the Australian market.”
Eves has spent her entire career working in the travel industry, starting as a travel consultant before joining Budget Rent A Car, Eastwest Airlines and Qantas Holidays in various sales roles. She also worked previously as a sales manager at Travel the World (where she represented Tauck and Travel the World’s other brands), and more recently she’s served as a business development manager for Holland America and Seabourn.
“Our guests and travel advisor partners in Australia are in the very best of hands with David and Helen leading the charge for us there,” said Steve Spivak, Tauck’s Vice President for Global Sales and Partner Relations. “David’s and Helen’s combined experience and expertise – on both the retail and supplier sides, and with some of the leading names in the travel industry – will be invaluable as we continue to take our service and support in the Australian market to the next level.”
TAUCK’S ROBUST RETURN CONTINUES
The return of Eves follows on Tauck’s robust return to global operations last year. After pausing operations in the spring of 2020 due to Covid-19, the company operated its first U.S. tour departures in January of 2021. Throughout the remainder of last year, Tauck steadily resumed its tours and cruises in most destinations around the world. The company successfully operated 96 different journeys in 36 countries on five different continents, including land programs across North America, South America, Europe and Africa, river cruises on the Rhine, Danube, Seine, Rhone, Douro and Nile, and small ship ocean cruises in Greece, Iceland, the Mediterranean, the Dalmatian Coast, the Galapagos Islands and Antarctica.
In doing so, Tauck was able to maintain the company’s high guest-satisfaction standards. According to Spivak, Tauck’s 2021 scores were on par with the company’s 2019 results, “and in a number of places our 2021 scores actually exceeded 2019.” Those areas included Tauck’s European land tours and river cruises, small ship ocean cruises, and journeys in the company’s “Exotics” portfolio.
