Taking in Australia’s natural phenomena and breathtaking landscapes out of your car window is becoming the desired way to travel.

With untouched, red surrounds to mountainous ranges and sweeping deserts, the Outback Queensland town of Winton makes for a must-visit road trip!

The region’s rugged backdrop has earned Winton the reputation of Australia’s Hollywood of the Outback, with a film location CV boasting The Proposition, Mystery Road and Total Control. It is only fitting the charming town would become home to the largest film festival dedicated to Australian cinema – Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival.

The annual film festival will roll out the red carpet this June 25 to July 3, so you can catch some of Australia’s brightest film stars at the festival’s unmissable screenings, masterclasses and workshops. With an abundance of nature, culture and heritage, the diverse natural history (think dinosaurs, Waltzing Matilda and QANTAS) and spectacular landscapes also lend to Winton’s star power.

We’d love to arrange the below interview opportunities to discuss the unique outback experience for Australian travellers – from novices, adventurers to grey nomads.

Interview Opps:

  1. Festival Director, Mark Melrose to discuss the incredible experience that Vision Splendid Outback Film Festival and Outback Queensland offers adventures and movie buffs alike.
  2. Winton Tourism and Economic Development Officer, Adam Head to discuss the unique tourism attractions and experiences of Winton and its surrounds – from dinosaurs to film stars.
