Spread the love

Are you an adventurous Sagittarius, always on the hunt for the newest cocktail out there? An indecisive Libra who can’t make your mind up when looking at a bar menu? Or maybe you’re a Pisces and too busy daydreaming to read the drinks list?

Observatory Bar situated inside The Langham, Sydney has the answer to all your ordering woes; even more so, if you’re a gin-lover.

Introducing “The Zodiac Gin Collection”

The team at Observatory Bar are proud to launch a new menu of twelve Gin & Tonic’s, each representing a star sign of the Zodiac.

Each G&T is designed to represent the characteristics and personality traits of its sign. For a passionate, fiery Aries, there’s Mezcal Gin with chilli. For the nostalgic and sentimental Cancerian, enjoy the Four Pillars Barrel-Aged Chardonnay Gin with dried orange. The G&T for the tough-minded and sometimes secretive Scorpio is Ironbark 313 Wattleseed Dry Gin with orange and coffee beans. And for the Libran who likes all things pretty, it’s Manly Spirits Lilly Pilly Pink Gin with flowers and frozen raspberries.

Eric Lo, Food & Beverage Manager of The Langham, Sydney says,

“Gin & Tonics are still trending and hugely popular but they can become repetitive and lack excitement. We wanted to elevate the G&T experience and give our guests something a little extra. With a nod to Sydney’s Observatory across the road and our very own name, what better way to liven up our G&T menu, than with The Zodiac Gin Collection. We hope that everyone enjoys them as much as we have, putting the menu together.”

Australia’s Most Romantic Cocktail: The Langham Signature – The Pink Rose

Further to the new Gin Menu, The Langham, Sydney are thrilled to launch the long-awaited Langham Signature cocktail – The Pink Rose. Confidently, named by guests as Australia’s Most Romantic Cocktail.

The Pink Rose is the essence of The Langham – in a glass. Any regular guest to the hotel will recognise that unique scent – the signature Ginger Flower. Taking inspiration from this subtle aroma, The Langham Lady Thatcher pink roses and the traditional Victorian elegance, bartender Kenneth Wong from Observatory Bar created this beautifully curated cocktail. Incorporating Gin, Rose and Ginger Beer, this is a must-try for any lover of The Langham.

New Handcrafted Cocktails

Performed by Observatory Bar twin bartenders, Steven and Edward Bailey, the new cocktails showcasing at the end of 2020 are those that treat guests to a theatrical mixology show. For ten years, the twins have been surprising and delighting guests at The Langham and this new cocktail menu is no exception. Along with a passionate team, Roman Devchich and Kenneth Wong, the close-knit foursome have created unique cocktails in luxurious and moody surroundings.

Certain concoctions will take your tastebuds on a journey of discovery, such as the Third Rock. An Umami orientated cocktail with a bold and earthy charm. Highlighting truffle, mushroom and Diplomatico Rum, it’s a cocktail that must personally be experienced.

Savoury and Something Sweet

Observatory Bar continues, as always with it’s rotating menu of creative dishes that complement the drinks list. Choose meaty bar snacks such as Angus beef short ribs, chicken katsu sliders or enjoy a selection of cured and smoked meats. Sweet paprika churros or the salted caramel & apple cinnamon cheesecake will satisfy those with a sweet tooth or keep it simple with a two, three or four cheese board.

A Glamourous, Intimate, Playful Hideaway

In beautifully moody and luxurious surrounds, Observatory Bar will surprise and delight your senses. Showcasing a sea of plush upholstery, brushed velvet, polished brass and marble, accented by shelves with objets d’art, bar trolleys and a telescope – a playful nod to Observatory Hill, right opposite. This is a place where attention to detail and gastronomic flair go hand in hand with the drinking experience. Open to guests both staying at The Langham, Sydney and anyone local or travelling looking for that elevated and inventive cocktail experience.
