SeaLink Kangaroo Island has partnered with Kangaroo Island dining experience designer, Gastronomo, to launch their new spring wilderness dining experience – The Feast, Kangaroo Island from 14 October and the popular Enchanted Fig Tree from 16 December 2021 until 4 April 2022.
The Feast Kangaroo Island is a progressive dining adventure inspired by the stars and designed to connect diners to the spirit and essence of a magical location through its local produce, storytelling, a hint of theatre and a touch of the unexpected.
Surrounded by flickering candlelight and in a secret venue hand-crafted by old sugar gum trees and corrugated iron, the evening’s progressive feast explores historic cooking techniques that leave the palate experiencing different tastes and flavours inspired from the land and sea and cooked over a fire and on coals.
The Feast Dinner experience includes a Kangaroo Island Spirit welcome cocktail and a progressive dinner for $145 per person. The Feast is available from the 14th of October to 1st November 2021 and then from 11th to 29th November 2021 every Thursday to Monday from 7.30pm to 10.15pm.
SeaLink is the exclusive transport partner and will be providing return shared coach transfers from Kingscote and Penneshaw on Saturday 16th, 23rd and 30th October and 13th, 20th, and 27th November 2021. Return coach transfers departing KI Seafront Hotel are $70 per person and transfers departing Aurora Ozone Hotel are $60 per person. Private return transfers are also available.
SeaLink is also offering a 2 Day / 1 Night Kangaroo Island & The Feast Weekend Escape Self Drive Package priced from $533.50 per person, twin share. The package includes return SeaLink Kangaroo Island passenger and standard vehicle ferry transfers from Cape Jervis to Kangaroo Island, dinner at The Feast with return shared coach transfers and one night’s accommodation at the Aurora Ozone Hotel in an Executive Sea View Room. Other accommodation options include Kangaroo Island Seafront Hotel in a Seafront Room or at Kangaroo Island Shores Holiday Park in an Eco Luxury Tent (prices will vary).
Returning in December 2021, guests will be able to dine amongst the dappled light of the 100-year-old Fig Tree’s boughs at The Enchanted Fig Tree dining experience.
Over Gastronomo’s four-month season, guests will begin their culinary experience with a welcome cocktail beside the Mulberry Tree or in the property’s rustic shearing shed, before dining under the gnarled limbs and sun-dappled chambers of The Enchanted Fig Tree.
Inspired by fig mythology, the island location, sea, land and earth, head chef Stephanie Vass has handcrafted a special six course menu that includes a hint of local history, a splash of fairy tale, and a sprinkle of the unexpected!
Lunch or dinner at The Enchanted Fig Tree is $155 per person including a welcome Kangaroo Island Spirit Gin cocktail. Lunch is from 12.30pm to 3.30pm every Wednesday to Sunday from 16th December 2021 to 4th April 2022 and dinner is from 7.15pm to 10.00pm every Friday and Sunday night from 9th January 2022 to 6th March 2022.
Christmas Day Lunch at The Enchanted Fig Tree is only $200 per person, from 2.00pm to 5.00pm on Saturday 25th December 2021.
The Enchanted Fig Tree is also open on Boxing Day 26th December 2021, Christmas Holiday 27th December 2021 and New Year’s Holiday 3rd January 2022 for lunch from 12.30pm to 3.30pm and is only $180 per person.
SeaLink is the exclusive transport partner and can provide private and small to large group transfers to and from Kangaroo Island accommodation to The Enchanted Fig Tree, located in the remote Middle River on the North Coast of the island. Private transfers are on request and subject to availability at time of booking.
