Earlier in the week a small groups of agents were invited to a Paul Gauguin-style painting lesson at Cork & Canvas in partnership with Paul Gauguin Cruises. On Thursday another group attended a relaxing yoga class and next week one other group will attend a dance class learning traditional Tahitian dancing, both of which were organised by Tahiti Tourisme Australia-New Zealand Account Director Caroline Brunel.

The online programme, which went live on 14 October, will support agents by providing incentive-based opportunities to start booking travel to The Islands of Tahiti in coming months, in preparation for international travel resuming next year. With the destination ranking as one of the hottest destinations to see in 2021 in research conducted by Vacaay, the roll out of the programme is a commitment to ensuring travel agents are ready for the anticipated influx of enquiry about Tahiti once border restrictions are eased.

Designed to excite and engage, the Tahiti Specialist Programme invites members of industry to participate in a rewards style programme that incentivises agents to not just sell the destination, but to immerse themselves in it. In addition to ongoing destination training and booking support, as agents progress through the various levels of the programme, they will be rewarded with opportunities that include luxury and small group famils. As a kick-off incentive, all agents who register before the end of November 2020 will go into the draw to win one of 2 pairs of return tickets to Papeete – with a winner from both Australia and NZ to be chosen.
