Walkinshaw Andretti United’s winning supercar driven by Chaz Mostert has sold for $610,000 under the hammer to an anonymous bidder last night at Lloyds Auctions.

With the vehicle accepting online bids for nearly three weeks prior on the Lloyds Auctions website, the bids revved up the competition between bidders on auction day.

“Never before have we seen a complete race-winning Supercar with its V8 racing engine go to auction, this moment will go down in Australian motorsport history forever,” said Mr. Lee Hames, Chief Operating Officer for Lloyds Auctions.

“Not only is it the first Holden that Chaz drove to victory with Walkinshaw Andretti, but it is the final Gen II chassis that Walkinshaw Racing will ever build,” continued Mr. Hames.

The new custodian will receive delivery at the completion of the 2022 Supercars Championship meaning there are plenty of opportunities for more victories to be added to its growing list of achievements and add to the value of the vehicle in years to come.

It will be delivered in full running condition in the specification it competes in at the 2021 Bathurst 1000 and in any livery the new owner wishes from the 2021 or 2022 season.

There was also a road-legal Holden race car that went up for auction over the weekend a HSV GTSR W1 4 Door Build #017 which sold to a Holden enthusiast for $750,000.

This wasn’t the only rare Holden to sell a 1996 Holden HSV VS GTSR BUILD #001 in XU3 Yellah sold for a whopping $1 million under the hammer whilst a HSV GTSR W1 Maloo Ute reached a hammer price of $1,250,000 but went into negotiations expected to sell in the coming days.

“Holdens continue to appreciate in value, anything of a limited build, celebrity affiliation, significant history or chrome bumpers just keeps going up in value and we urge any Holden enthusiast looking for advice to give us a call right now,” said Mr. Lee Hames.
