AlohaSafe Alert is the state of Hawaii’s official exposure notification application, or app, designed to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Hawaii residents and visitors may download the free app and be alerted of any possible exposure within their proximity. For trans-Pacific and interisland travelers visiting Maui County, the Public Health Emergency Rules now requires the download of the app as an additional layer of protection.

Committed to your privacy, AlohaSafe Alert does not track your location or identity, rather anonymously keeps track of mobile devices an individual may have been in close contact with without accessing GPS or user data. The app utilizes Google/Apple Exposure Notification (GAEN), which enables devices to communicate to one another anonymously and privately.
AlohaSafe Alert was developed through a public-private partnership with the Hawaii State Department of Health and various businesses, nonprofits and community coalitions. As we navigate through the pandemic, we encourage residents and visitors to download the app and work together to protect ourselves, our ohana and our community.
