Growing Melbourne, Australia based Travel Technology business Aeronology today signed a global distribution contract with Rail Europe.

The arrangement provides Aeronology’s travel agent customers the ability shop, book and transact point to point train bookings via Rail Europe’s new reservation service.

Rail Europe’s new state of the art reservations system Easy Rail Access (ERA), will provide travel agents instant E Tickets for European Trains.

Rail Europe is a distributor of European rail products, representing over 50 railways throughout Europe. It offers a wide selection of European rail products, from rail passes to train tickets.

To have Rail Europe as our founding rail partner is very important for us, it allows our customers to book trains as easily as flights, to provide an e ticket to customer and name your own sale price in the itinerary”, Russell Carstensen CEO & Co Founder of Aeronology.

Rail reservations will be embedded into our online air booking service, tickets will be issued and paid for instantly and all available rail passes will be able to be purchased with on seven-day account. Our custom made and agent branded itinerary will have all rail details included”, Carstensen explained.

The days of calling a rail booking centre for timetable details, paying a large booking fee and not being able to make money out of rail are now gone. We expect rail bookings via travel agents will increase 50-fold out of this APAC market”.

We are proud of Rail Europe’s belief in our online booking capabilities, and Europe is only the start, we will be allowing our agent customers to have access to rail in Eastern Europe, North Asia, USA, Canada actually any region that has an important rail, bus and ferry infrastructure”. Mr Carstensen noted.

Aeronology presents us the perfect opportunity to showcase the capabilities of our new ERA API and the ease in which we can integrate rail onto such a dynamic platform. The evolution of train distribution from legacy stand-alone systems to state of the art, robust technology is exciting and will again lead us through another renaissance in travel technology”, says Richard Leonard, APAC General Manager at Rail Europe
