Great news from Queenstown, New Zealand!

The stunning The Rees Hotel, described as blending chic five-star accommodation with all the comforts of home and the service and facilities of an elite international hotel, situated on the absolute lakefront, with The Rees’ terraced construction delivering complete privacy and showcases panoramic views overlooking Lake Wakatipu and The Remarkables Mountains in Queenstown, New Zealand, has been recognized twice in global awards as New Zealand’s Leading Hotel Residences 2020 in the 27th World Travel Awards and as New Zealand’s Best Ski Hotel 2020 in the 8th annual World Ski Awards.

Mark Rose , the charismatic CEO and general manager of The Rees Hotel said, “During a year of extreme challenges for the tourism and hospitality sectors worldwide, we are thrilled to again be recognised- and to double down- on winning both these prestigious global awards, adding, this recognition for the level of excellence our hotel continually strives for, is a reflection on the commitment of our team and a credit to their outstanding achievements on a daily basis, despite the global pandemic.”

It is reported that despite the incredible challenges faced by the industry over the course of 2020, this year’s World Travel Awards nomination programme reported record visitor traffic and engagement from the public voter, the all-important tourism consumer, showing that as the global recovery begins, the appetite for tourism has never been as keen and offers hope and much needed encouragement to us all.

With the rising demand for future travel comes a notable trend from the consumer to seek out and book the very best tourism products from across the world. As we look to the future, this trend is why winning both of these awards has never been more valuable.

Winners were invited to unite virtually as World Travel Awards launched its inaugural Oceania Winners Day on 11th November and to coincide with the unveiling of the 2020 Oceania winners to the consumer marketplace, Oceania Winner’s Day showcased the very best of the region’s travel and tourism sector to the world.

Over to the World Ski Awards, it is reported that this year is also more important than in any other year, with the ski tourism consumer wanting to know that they will be booking with only the very best and the much-anticipated unveiling of this year’s winners onworldskiawards.com, coinciding with the launch of the first WSA Winners Day on Friday 20th November.  This win also comes fast on the heels of another prestigious award for winter-lovers and The Rees, the Ski & Snowboard With Kids magazine’s 2020 awards seeing The Rees Hotel Queenstown judged by industry experts as Best New Zealand Ski Hotel.
