Paradise Resort Gold Coast has just been elevated to a new platform, with the green light provided for Dusty’s Safari Train Ride to start services in December.

The trackless Wattman Mini Express train will add even further to the resort’s extensive collection of family-friendly activities.

The train will operate throughout the day, taking guests on a journey through the lush gardens of Paradise Resort.

Mini trains are a passion of Paradise Resort owner, Dr Jerry Schwartz. This is the third of his resorts to introduce a trackless mini train, and Paradise Resort is the first resort on the Gold Coast to offer guests such an attraction.

The train itself is a Wattman Express which is battery operated and built exclusively with environmentally friendly materials that are easy to recycle. All Wattman trains are powered with a silent electric motor and provide a smooth experience. Dusty’s Safari Train Ride will be able to carry 16 passengers, at $5 a journey. With Adults at Kids Prices!

Also being introduced in time for the Christmas holidays will be daily activities including candle making, pizza making, cookie decorating, snow globe creations and much more.

New and upgraded rooms will also make their debut in the largest-ever upgrade of the resort, which was recently voted Australia’s Best Family Resort, for the 3rd year in succession by Out and About with Kids and results are due at the end of December to see if we can make it 10 out of 10 for the readers of Holidays with Kids.

General Manager of Paradise Resort, David Brook, said that the new train attraction and other activities had been planned for some time, but their launch was timed perfectly for the return of travellers from Sydney and Victoria.

“Over half of our bookings over the Christmas New Year holidays are from interstate and since the announcement of the open borders the phones haven’t stopped ringing,” said Mr Brook.

“It has been such a challenging year for tourism that I think the launch of the train is a metaphor for the optimism we have for the upcoming holiday season and for 2021 – we’re right back on track!

“Paradise Resort has had its largest-ever refurbishment and upgrade in the past six months. New-look rooms, public areas, attractions and activities will give a totally fresh look to Australia’s most popular and awarded family resort.”
