Outrigger Fiji resorts obtain the ‘Care Fiji Commitment- 100% Vaccinated’ status and are ready for international guests

With the recent encouraging announcements from Fiji Airways, Qantas, Tourism Fiji and  the Australian government on easing international travel restrictions and opening up flights to Fiji, multi-award winning Outrigger properties Castaway Island, Fiji and  Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort are proud to announce that all staff are now 100% vaccinated and ready to welcome back all of their Australian and New Zealand ‘Vuvale’- family.

By obtaining the Care Fiji Commitment | 100% Vaccinated seal of approval, the Fiji resorts’ have commitment to providing a safe oasis for employees and guests when they visit. Both resorts are now able to use the banner of 100% vaccinated as issued by Tourism Fiji.

Sydney-based Outrigger Hospitality Group area director of sales and marketing, Fiji Islands, Ben Johnson said the 100% vaccinated status strengthens the resorts position for when the borders open.

“Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort and Castaway Island, Fiji staff have undergone extensive training in Covid awareness protocols underpinned by Outrigger’s Clean Commitment, developed to ensure a safe space from arrival to activities through to departure that comply with all Ministry of Health directives.

“Further to Outrigger’s Clean Commitment, both resorts have also undergone accreditation with the Fiji Government and are certified under the Care Fiji Commitment. The Care Fiji Commitment was developed by the Tourism Recovery Team to reassure travellers that Fiji is a safe and secure destination to visit for their next holiday”.

Mr Johnson added, “As part of the Care Fiji Commitment, Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort and Castaway Island, Fiji have nominated ‘Wellness Ambassadors’ at both resorts. The ambassadors are responsible for delivering the Care Fiji Commitment They are a contact point with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services and are active facilitators of COVID-19 mitigation programs and controls on property. In fulfilling this capacity, they are trained in coordinating the response to suspected COVID-19 cases.

In addition, both resorts have also employed a full-time Area Hygiene Manager to oversee both resorts protocols, adding a further layer of confidence and communication with the Ministry of Health. Management also strongly encourages all staff and guests to download of the Care Fiji App is strongly encouraged.
