Local favourite, Outrigger Fiji Beach Resort, has announced it will recommence services and open its doors to welcome local domestic guests from October 1, 2021.
The resort has obtained the Care Fiji Commitment | 100% Vaccinated seal of approval, with the resorts committing to providing a safe oasis for employees and guests when they visit.
Initially the property will open from Friday to Sunday and is offering special packages for its bure accommodation only. Beginning from just F$185 per night for two adults and two children, it includes daily full breakfast, complimentary WIFI and use of non-motorised watersports.
The Outrigger Fiji has always been a highly regarded resort option for Fijians holidaying at home and has a strong reputation within the community and locals, of being inclusive and welcoming, said resort manager Russell Blaik
He added,” Prior to the lockdown in April 2021 Outrigger Fiji had seen a tremendous uptake in bookings from our Fijian Vuvale (family) via the Love Our Locals campaign. We are so pleased to be able to welcome back our loyal locals.
“Our team is fully dedicated to guests’ wellbeing; staff have undergone extensive training in Covid awareness protocols underpinned by Outrigger’s Clean Commitment and are 100% trained and compliant in the Care Fiji Commitment program as well as being 100% fully vaccinated to provide guests with utmost peace of mind”.
In addition, the property has employed a full-time Area Hygiene Manager to oversee protocols and nominated ‘Wellness Ambassadors’ at the resort, who’s responsibility is to deliver the Care Fiji Commitment. Management also strongly encourages all staff and guests to download the Care Fiji App.
The property is permitted to open at full capacity and is hoping to see an uptake of group business during the weekdays and a significant increase as the festive season approaches, thus allowing them to open further accommodation and increase staff levels.
The company is hopeful it can phase its workforce back to pre-covid levels as international visitation to Fiji returns but is pleased to be able to offer some relief to its staff after such a long suspension of operations, by opening part-time.
