Opening This Spring, Mission Pacific Hotel and The Seabird Resort Offer Exclusive Vantage Point for Beachfront Meetings

February 19, 2021 Appointments / Movers & Shakers No Comments

Scheduled to open this Spring, the Mission Pacific Hotel, a Joie de Vivre Hotel and The Seabird Resort, a Destination Hotel will offer authentic design with 387 total guestrooms and more than 30,000 square feet of oceanview function space for a unique beachfront aesthetic in the boardroom.

Additionally, the appointments of Michael Stephens as Area Managing Director; Brandon Hendricks as Area Director of Sales and Marketing; Melisa Lindley as Director of Travel Industry Sales; Tyler Garcia as Director of Sales; and Robert Yealu as Area Director of Food and Beverage will usher in the largest oceanfront hotel development in San Diego County in more than 50 years.

Set on one of Southern California’s most pristine beaches in the town of Oceanside, these boutique dreamscapes offer true to place retreats and a bold spirit for meetings and events of varying sizes. The Seabird Resort is an art-filled coastal oasis that exudes “flip-flop luxury,” boasting nearly 20,000 square feet of event space. At Mission Pacific Hotel, a laid back and bohemian-chic vibe sets the tone for its 13,000 square feet of function space. Both properties offer plush amenities including beautiful pools, beach access, manicured grounds and spacious, and sun-drenched interiors. Beyond the natural beauty, there are five distinct food and beverage concepts – organic, farm-to-table fare at The Seabird Resort alongside more eclectic and diverse cuisine at Mission Pacific Hotel – as well as a permanent art collection sourced by the Oceanside Museum of Art that round out the breezy seaside backdrop.

Newly appointed colleagues include:

  • Michael Stephens joins as Area Managing Director to oversee daily operations of these immersive concepts. With almost 20 years’ experience as a general manager, Stephens possesses a global lens of the Hyatt portfolio, having begun his career at Hyatt Regency Lexington then quickly moving into similar roles at Grand Hyatt DFW, Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa, Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort, Grand Hyatt São Paulo, Two Roads Hospitality and Paradise Point Resort & Spa.
  • As Area Director of Sales and Marketing, Brandon Hendricks oversees the development of strategic sales and marketing plans. With more than 25 years of experience, he has held leadership positions within a range of heritage brands in the United States including The St. Regis Deer Valley, Sage Hospitality, The St. Regis Houston, Bellagio Hotel & Casino and Hyatt Hotels.
  • Melisa Lindley will begin her role as Director of Travel Industry Sales, as she possesses particular expertise in business, leisure and group travel. With more than 20 years in the hospitality industry, she has worked with an acclaimed portfolio of brands including IMG, The Ritz-Carlton, AKA Hotels, American Express Global Business Travel and Forty 1◦North Hotel & Marina. Prior to joining Mission Pacific Hotel and The Seabird Resort, Melisa led her team as Business Travel Sales Manager at Motif Seattle, a Destination Hotel.
