Summer is finally here and as Australia looks forward to the end of 2020, Moonlight Cinema presented by Aussie are welcoming the new year with a bumper program of fantastic films screening across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in January.

Check out the highlights of the January line-up:

ADVANCED SCREENINGS

Moonlight’s January program includes advanced screenings of 2020 premiere films. Catch Carey Mulligan as a woman on seeking vengeance in Promising Young Woman; see the big screen adaptation of the bestselling novel Penguin Bloom starring Naomi Watts and Andrew Lincoln; and settle in for Australian popstar Sia’s filmmaking debut with Music.

BEST OF ROM-COMS

For 25 years Moonlight has been the go-to date night destination. So to get your summer sizzling, Australia’s favourite outdoor cinema is screening a line-up of the world’s best rom-coms presented by Garnier, including: Dirty Dancing10 Things I Hate About You,The Princess Bride and Noting Hill.

STAR WARS ORIGINAL TRILOGY

Journey to a galaxy far far away with the original Star Wars trilogy screening at Moonlight Cinema (excluding Moonlight Melbourne). Remastered to offer a top notch quality viewing experience, fanatics of the space adventure flicks will rejoice in the opportunity to see Star Wars: A New HopeThe Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi back on the big screen while reclining under the stars.

TOP DOG FILM FESTIVAL

The ultimate doggie night awaits at Moonlight in January with a special screening by The Top Dog Film Festival. Showcasing the incredible bond between dogs and their people, The Top Dog Film Festival presents a single night screening of their best short films of the Festival. For anyone who treasures their pampered pooch this is a must not miss event for you and your four legged best friend.

MELBOURNE OPENING WEEKEND

Don’t pack up those Christmas decorations yet! Moonlight Melbourne opens with the classic Festive Films that Moonlight is famous for; Love Actually and The Holiday.

I AM GRETA

Leading natural beauty brand, Garnier is the Official Green Partner and Beauty Sponsor for the 2020-21 Summer Season, extending Garnier’s efforts to make sustainable beauty accessible to all.

To celebrate, Moonlight and Garnier present a special screening of I Am Greta, the stirring documentary that charts the rise of Greta Thunberg, the 15-year-old student on the autism spectrum whose protest for action against the coming climate crisis has turned her into a world renowned global activist heading a global movement.

In an effort to further educate consumers and promote sustainable habits, Garnier will also donate $2 for every ticket sold nationally from the Presenting Partner screenings of I Am Greta, to Australian non-profit, clean up movement, Take 3 For The Sea.
