Nkwichi Lodge, situated on the eastern shores of Lake Malawi, is happy to announce the appointment of Isabelle Szott as Lodge Manager starting 1st March 2020. Nkwichi have released the following statement:

Born and raised in Germany, Isabelle has studied in the UK for eight years and is an experienced traveller. She brings with her extensive experience in working with youth, coordination of events, and a deep understanding and appreciation of different cultures and conservation. Isabelle is due to complete her PhD, studying the effects of tourism on wild African elephants, providing her with detailed knowledge not only of scientific research and field work in Africa, but also how tourism and nature can benefit each other. Most importantly, she brings with her a passion for nature and conservation and of sharing her knowledge with the rest of the world. As our new manager, Isabelle will ensure that first class service is delivered, and share her enthusiasm for nature and sustainability with our guests.

The 2020 season is filled with opportunities to continue to develop the lodge and to explore new activities for our guests. We will be developing guided tours for guests with a keen interest in birding and wildlife – which can be tailored to your interests. With the close connection between Nkwichi Lodge and the Manda Wilderness Community Trust, Isabelle is looking forward to using her conservation background to identify opportunities for research, and further actions that need to be taken to protect the Manda Wilderness Area.
