New research ranks Newcastle as the best party city in the UK beating the likes of London and Manchester.
As part of their Sin Cities campaign, researchers at SlotsUp have combed through the data to uncover which cities across the UK are the best for a “wild” night out per capita, with Newcastle coming first on the list.
The Uk’s Top 10 ‘Sin Cities’ : 

  1. Newcastle Upon Tyne: 44.2
  2. Manchester: 41.7
  3. Brighton: 40.4 
  4. Liverpool: 40.4
  5. Norwich: 39.6
  6. Glasgow: 32.5
  7. Nottingham: 32.5 
  8. Southampton: 30.8
  9. Plymouth: 28.3 
  10. Stoke-on-Trent: 27.9

The news comes as scientists predict that the UK will be amongst the first countries to emerge from the pandemic, meaning wild nights out are back on the cards again.
Amassing a score of 44.2 out of 50, Newcastle was the clear winner followed by Manchester and joint 3rd Liverpool & Brighton. The city holds a large selection of clubs and bars for a fun night out as well as casinos for the lucky few it is the leading city in the UK in that amenity, holding the highest Casinos per capita rate at 0.000026.
Newcastle has a total of 139 nightlife attractions, 4 strip clubs and 12 casinos as well as 52 tattoo parlours making it one of the best cities to have a wild night out in the UK. Furthermore, an upcoming 689 concerts are expected to be hosted in the city.
Some interesting stats include:

  • Manchester ranks 2nd in the UK for wildest sin city, with the most concerts available per capita
  • Norwich is the most sinful city in the UK in regards to most available strip clubs per capita
  • Plymouth ranks as first in the UK for the best nightlife options per capita
  • Brighton ranks 3rd in the UK for wildest sin city, having more late-night activities than London and Nottingham per capita
  • Liverpool is tied for 3rd as well, having more tattoo parlours than Manchester and Leicester

Methodology: Taking various amenities in each city, we have calculated which city caters best for a ‘wild time’. We gave each city a score out of 10 for each amenity and ranked them based on their overall score out of 50.
