Multi-Million-dollar Jayco caravan facility opens new workshop in Dubbo

Dubbo’s multi-million-dollar drive-in and drive-out Jayco facility, Work Rest Play Here, has undergone a huge extension increasing its floor space to a huge 3,500m2, as well as providing locals and interstate travellers with a new caravan workshop.
Jayco Dubbo is the biggest Jayco caravan dealership in the Greater Western New South Wales region, offering the full range of Jayco RV’s to suit couples, families, retirees and the emerging adventure market.
The new workshop facility features a drive-through service centre, a huge 8-bay workshop with extended bay space, meaning that more caravans can be serviced at any given time. Additionally, the new bulk parts storage will also help get caravanners back on the road quicker, due to its ability to keep even more parts on hand – avoiding ordering delays.
The new state-of-the-art workshop was created to cater for the huge spike in new caravanners to market, as well as provide jobs for local residents and boost the region’s economy. “Domestic tourism is booming, which was the main reason for the new workshop. We’ve seen a lot of Victorians travelling through New South Wales on their way to Queensland, so we wanted to make sure we had a facility big enough to help with the increase whilst providing top quality caravanning assistance,” said Chris Gibson, manager of Jayco Dubbo.
“We’re also noticing an influx of caravanners due to all of the new market entrants. We’ve definitely seen a younger demographic buying van, which is very different to the older grey nomad stereotype,” said Chris.
“Our location is perfect for travellers who may have servicing needs that take a little longer. We have accommodation, restaurants and local tourist attractions all close by,” he said.
“A bigger Jayco facility also means an increase in employment opportunities for local residents. Since opening, we have created over 44 new jobs for locals, and we really hope to continue to grow over the next few months,” said Chris.
The new workshop, located at Jayco Dubbo, is now open to caravanners. In addition to being a Jayco dealership and service centre, the facility also acts as a Let’s Go Motorhomes branch for keen travellers looking to hire motorhomes and campervans for their next adventure.
