Melco Resorts & Entertainment prioritizes the safety, health and wellbeing of people – including as a colleague, guest or partner within its supply chain. Melco’s Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Policy sets out the Company’s pledge to comply with all relevant legal requirements around injuries and illness prevention and includes continuous improvement in OSH performance and the maintenance of safety and health standards at its resort properties and corporate offices.

To this end, the Melco OSH Week roadshow was recently attended by more than 1,800 colleagues across resorts including City of Dreams, Studio City and Altira Macau to help enhance colleagues’ OSH awareness. Organized by the Melco OSH Team in collaboration with Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL), the roadshow provided practical information via game booths for colleagues focusing on, among other topics, ways to prevent work fatigue, shift work and health, understanding occupational musculoskeletal strain and health tips for hotel industry workers.

Furthermore, as part of Melco’s targeted training and awareness-raising activities, the Melco OSH Mascot Design Competition invited colleagues to design a Company OSH mascot as goodwill ambassador to emphasize the importance of work safety. Mr. Toby Ryan, Vice President, Security Operations of Melco, recently welcomed guests including Ms. Lam Iok Cheong, Head of Occupational Safety and Health Department and Ms. Tang Weng Kei, Head of Promotion and Training Division to the competition award ceremony.

Mr. David Sisk, Chief Operating Officer, Macau Resorts, said, “Occupational safety and health is paramount. Melco’s OSH policies continue to be strengthened by our strict compliance with requirements under our ISO 45001-certified, OSH management system for all our resort properties and corporate offices. Awareness-raising activities such as the Melco OSH roadshow and mascot design competition, both of which have been warmly received by colleagues, are designed to serve as reminders of the importance of workplace health and safety. We are grateful for the support received from Labour Affairs Bureau towards the cause.”
