The Martin County Office of Tourism & Marketing has officially launched a new “Missed Milestones” campaign, marking the latest addition to their ongoing COVID-19 rebound efforts.

Starting today, travelers who book a two-night stay at a selection of Martin County properties by December 31, 2020 will receive an extra night free of charge to redeem in 2021 when they are comfortable traveling once again (blackout dates may apply and vary by property).

The concept behind the campaign acknowledges the universality of missing important life milestones this year due to the unforeseen impacts of COVID-19. From postponed weddings and canceled birthday trips to virtual graduations and derailed holidays—everybody has experienced some sort of missed milestone over the past few months.

With the new program, visitors are invited to plan a proper celebratory getaway to Martin County with the additional free night incentive to make those moments even more special. Every property in Martin County was invited to sign on to the program, and current participants represent a range of accommodations suited for every budget and style, including oceanfront resorts, national brand name hotels, and independently owned boutique lodging.

“Needless to say, 2020 has been an unprecedented year full of obstacles and challenges for everyone. By launching the Missed Milestones program, we’re hoping to share some inspiration and keep people looking forward to traveling again when they’re ready to do so safely,” says Nerissa Okiye, Tourism Director of Martin County. “It’s a small gesture, but we’re excited to deliver a bit of good news from our quaint slice of paradise. In conjunction with our #MartinTogether health and safety program, we believe visitors will be excited to return to our under-the-radar escape when the time is right.”

Executed in partnership with creative agency Belo + Company using CARES Act funding, the campaign positions Martin County as an idyllic celebration destination, thanks to its 22 miles of uncrowded beaches and over 100,000 acres of parks and conservation lands. There’s more than enough room to spread out and relax safely while commemorating your missed milestone.

The creative assets feature real images and videos captured in Martin County, and the campaign showcases the vast array of outdoor adventures and attractions that await, including fishing, surfing, sailing, yoga, stand-up paddle boarding, world-class dining, and more. The campaign will run through the end of the year with TV, print, digital, and radio ads.
