Following more than a decade at the helm of the DMC Network, Managing Director, Dan Tavrytzky has announced his retirement at the end of November to spend more time with family and pursue hobbies and other interests. His role will be filled, on an interim basis, by current chair of the DMC Network board of managers and co-owner of CTC Destination Management, Jeremy Gardner.Commenting on Dan’s announcement, Jeremy Gardner said “For the owners and members of the DMC Network, this is a bittersweet moment. We are delighted for Dan to be able to prioritize his family, friends and other activities but sad to lose his outstanding stewardship. Under Dan’s tenure, the DMC Network has grown into a highly reputable, globally respected brand that connects business events professionals with best-in-class destination services across more than 100 destinations. While we will certainly miss Dan’s presence, our Headquarters team is composed of strong sales and marketing professionals, backed by robust business processes and a dedicated board of managers, who are focused on the continued success and support of our members and clients.”
With a background as a University Professor and in hotel, CVB and DMC management, Dan joined the DMC Network in early 2011 as Managing Director, overseeing its expansion from 26 members, based only in North America, to 45 members based in 5 global regions. His leadership has also been instrumental in guiding the DMC Network through difficult challenges like the Great Recession and the COVID pandemic.  Reflecting on his time at the DMC Network, Dan Tavrytzky said “It is important for me to re-focus my priorities, and having sustained the DMC Network through the pandemic, I believe the time is right to now make that move. I have enjoyed my almost 11 years leading and growing a fantastic headquarter team and a truly outstanding group of entrepreneurs who are deeply passionate about the way meetings, events and incentive travel experiences bring people together and build a better world.”
