Spread the love

The Lilongwe Wildlife Centre is under huge pressure as the COVID-19 crisis has forced us to close our guided tours and suspend our volunteer placements.

This means that we’re running our life-saving work with fewer people and less funding.

8 olive baboons, 36 yellow baboons, 115 vervet monkeys, 5 blue monkeys, 3 serval cats, 1 rock python, 1 crocodile, 2 spotted eagle owls and 1 African grey parrot.

172 in total.

That’s how many animals are being cared for at this very moment at Malawi’s only wildlife sanctuary, the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre. And they all need your help today.

Animals like Tao, a tiny vervet monkey we rescued from roadside vendors who were trying to sell him as a pet. Thankfully, Tao is now safe in the care of his new foster mum Rain – another vervet we also saved from the illegal pet trade (both pictured above, and Tao below).

Will you help care for 172 rescued animals during this global crisis?

We urgently need donations for essentials such as food, medicine and orphan care, to make sure animals such as Tao and Rain stay safe during this crisis.

Please help by making a donation today

• £20 could support two weeks of care for an orphaned monkey, including health checks, food and enrichment items to help them learn vital foraging skills.
