Korean Air signed a Cooperation and Research Agreement with Airbus on Jun 19 to partake in the Wing of Tomorrow Program.

The Airbus Wing of Tomorrow program is a major international research and development activity aimed at creating revolutionary new structural and systems architectures for carbon wings in order to improve aerodynamics and overall eco-efficiency of Airbus aircraft performance.

Since 2009, Korean Air Aerospace Division has supplied over 2,800 wingtip structures to Airbus for A320 aircraft, and in 2016, Korean Air Aerospace Division was selected as the supplier for A330neo wingtips with its proven technology and best performance.

Korean Air Aerospace Division will collaborate with Airbus on the development of innovative composite structures for installation on the Wing of Tomorrow demonstrator.

This agreement further solidifies the partnership between Korean Air and Airbus, and moving forward, Korean Air Aerospace Division will continue developing advanced technology for high-rate manufacture of composite parts.
