Korean Air has been designated as a 5-star airline by SkyTrax, one of the world’s most prestigious air transport rating organizations, with Skytrax having evaluated and awarded the service quality of global airlines since 1999 and the 5-star rating recognising the world’s best quality in aviation service.

Skytrax auditors travelled on Korean Air flights as mystery shoppers for three weeks and they evaluated the quality of customer service in all areas, including check-in counters, lounges, seating, in-flight meals, in-flight entertainment, cabin crew services and in-flight service items, among others.

What Korean Airlines describes as an esteemed rating reflects Korean Air’s excellent service qualities, with the airline’s service competitiveness based on its education programs for employees, comfortable seating such as first class Kosmo Suites 2.0 and an in-flight entertainment system that offers a variety of content, plus the airline also offers in-flight menus using seasonal ingredients and has selected wine lists, while continuing to introduce new services such as baggage loading notification system to improve customer convenience.

Keehong WOO, Korean Air’s president said, “We’re excited to receive a 5-Star Certification from Skytrax, the world’s most recognized customer service experience and airline ratings organization”, adding, It’s positive and meaningful news during this challenging time, and I’m sincerely proud of all our Korean Air employees who make this achievement possible,” and, “We continue to upgrade our aircraft and equipment to improve our customers’ experience and ensure safe and clean flights”, adding, “Korean Air is ready for the new, post-COVID era”.
