Melbourne: Kirkhope Aviation, which has been operating small group air tours by private aircraft throughout Australia for 49 years, is expanding and rebranding.

From today, the air touring division of the company will be known as Australian Air Safaris and will operate air tours, in conjunction with Seair Pacific, departing directly from Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast.

Tony Kirkhope started flying travellers to the Australian outback in 1972.

What began as a hobby has become his passion, and a successful business that in 2022 will operate more than 100 multi-day air tours throughout Australia’s most awe-inspiring destinations.

Business Manager, David Hayward said Australian Air Safaris was the obvious choice for the new name.

“It simply and accurately represents what we do.

“Cape York, The Kimberley and Pilbara, the Tarkine in Tasmania, the Flinders Ranges in South Australia are just a few of the remote destinations we cover.

“Flying by private aircraft with no more than 10 passengers, we get right into the destinations and offer a highly personalised, intimate, and enriching touring experience”.

Australian Air Safaris has just launched its 2022 air touring program, offering the broadest range of air tours by any operator in Australia.

On trips lasting from three to 15 days, travellers will experience our stunning country from above with your pilot, then on the ground with the local experts.
