Journey Beyond Rail Expeditions’ 2022 season is now open, giving guests the greatest choice and flexibility when planning a rail holiday.

Chief Commercial Officer for Journey Beyond, Peter Egglestone, said people were showing great interest in planning and booking their 2022 rail adventure.

“Following a year of lockdown, people are now eager to travel and we are heavily booked for the remainder of 2021. As a result, we’ve decided to bring forward the launch of our 2022 season, and for the first time, open the entire calendar year.

“With a full year completely opened, now is the best time for guests to secure their preferred dates and style of travel. All of Journey Beyond’s experiences are now available to book for 2022, making it easy for people to explore beyond the tracks. Guests can bookend their Indian Pacific journey with a visit to Rottnest Island with Rottnest Express and a cruise on Sydney Harbour with Journey Beyond Cruise Sydney. Alternatively, they can soak in the ultimate Darwin sunset aboard Darwin Harbour Cruises before or after their journey on The Ghan.

“In a first, two new packages will combine rail journeys on The Ghan and The Ghan Expedition with small-group outback touring in Alice Springs and beyond with Outback Spirit Tours. These holidays combine the romance of rail travel with authentic touring to the Red Centre’s icons with expert guides in state of the art 4WD Mercedes Benz vehicles for ultimate comfort.

“The 2022 launch opens bookings for high demand products such as Platinum Service and excitingly, we’re starting our ‘double Ghan’ season earlier, meaning there will be twice-weekly Ghan trips in each direction from April 2022 through to August 2022. The Great Southern, our newest train, will also be returning for its fourth season in 2022.

“We understand even the best-laid plans can change, so to help people book with confidence, we have fully refundable Flexible Fares that can be postponed or cancelled for any reason with just one day’s notice. Guests with Advance Purchase and Everyday Fares can also make changes to their booking up to 45 days from travel at no cost,” Mr Egglestone said.
