Today restaurateur Jonathan Barthelmess confirmed that he will take the vacant space on Howard Smith Wharves in between GRECA and soon to be open Stanley.

The restaurant, set to open October 2019 will be a waterfront, Japanese izakaya and bar inspired by Barthelmess’s time spent in Tokyo (where he owns The Apollo) and his acclaimed restaurant Cho Cho San in Potts Point, Sydney.

Barthelmess says;

“We love being part of Howard Smith Wharves where the huge success of GRECA has taken us all by surprise. By taking the restaurant space next door we can grow and strengthen our team and invest more into the Brisbane dining scene.”

The restaurant will feature a raw section based on sustainable seafood, specially sourced and selected Wagyu beef and an extensive Sake and Wine list. Upstairs will be a fun take on a vinyl bar with extensive and curated Whiskey list.
