InsideJapan Tours’ Senior Travel Consultant, Amy Tadehara, has been named one of the top travel advisors in North America Travel + Leisure magazine in its 2020 ‘A-List’ of travel specialists.

The annual list, which honors the industry’s leading travel authorities, was unveiled in the influential publication’s November 2020 issue.

Every year, Travel + Leisure editors assess hundreds of travel planners to spotlight and give their seal of approval to those who provide the highest level of service, professionalism, planning, and access for their clients. Of the 148 travel advisors recognized this year, only 14 offer expertise in Asian destinations. Only three, including Tadehara, are considered experts on travel to Japan.
“We are thrilled and honored to have a member of our hard-working InsideJapan Tours staff recognized on Travel + Leisure’s A-list. This distinction is a testament to our collaborative approach, depth of knowledge, and excellent service that Amy and everyone on our team deliver to our travelers every step of their journey,” said Jeff Krevitt, Vice President of Marketing for North America.
Originally from Louisville, Colorado, Tadehara is a fourth-generation Japanese-American. After studying Japanese in high school, her first visit to Japan was a brief homestay in Yamagata, where she found that her Japanese studies had served her well. Following her homestay experience, and after graduating from the University of Northern Colorado, Tadehara spent four years teaching English in Sendai, the capital city of the Miyagi Prefecture, from 2007 to 2011. While based in Sendai, she spent much of her free time traveling the country. She fell in love with the castles and historical monuments that she had studied in college, while also enjoying the more contemporary J-Pop culture of Japan (especially the music), Disney parks, and world-class public transportation system.
Since joining the InsideJapan Tours team in 2012, Tadehara has planned hundreds of memorable trips to Japan that allow her clients to forge a deep and intimate connection with the destination. “I love having a conversation with my clients about their dreams for a Japan experience, and then working with my connections and our operations team in-country to make those dreams come true.”
Tadehara’s ongoing explorations of Japan have solidified her standing as an hands-on expert on the destination and as a trusted source for some of North America’s top publications, including Thrillist, USA Today, and Condé Nast Traveler.
In addition to the Travel + Leisure A-List, Tadehara has also been named to the Condé Nast Traveler list of ‘Top Travel Specialists’ for 2020.
