Lana, the newest restaurant to unveil itself in the four-storey dining marvel known as Hinchcliff House has opened its doors today, offering a slice of Sydney history merged with an energetic yet elevated taste of Italy.Lana, meaning ‘wool’ in Italian, pays homage to the history of the beautifully restored Hinchcliff House which
was one of the last remaining wool stores in Sydney dating back to the 1860’s.

Thanks to Quay Quarter’s revitalisation of Circular Quay, Lana will serve up a lively atmosphere where the
lights are lower and the music is louder. Architecturally the interior blends vibrant colours and an abundance
of curves and textures to create a sense of the sweet life, la dolce vita.

Bringing this same vigour to the palates and plates of guests, Lana will serve up splashy, strong and colourful
cocktails. A pour from the wine list will see guests enjoying Italian varietals and blends, amongst a healthy mix
of natural and otherwise wine making styles.

Colouring the tables will be pescatarian Pan-Mediterranean inspired dishes bursting with crisp and punchy flavours.

Leaning into Lana’s zero-waste ethos and sustainable propositioning, the restaurant offers a set menu only, with two courses for $69, three courses for $85, or a five course tasting menu for $99 per person.

The seafood-led menu will offer seasonal, produce-driven selections such as roasted crayfish with pepperberries, murray cod with spring onion verde and fregola with pumpkin, blue cheese and black garlic.

The minds behind this creativity and giving Hinchcliff House its homey feel is House Made Hospitality, a collective of hospitality professionals who believe that food, drink and the environment that accompanies them are essential to human connection and creating a sense of place.

International restauranteur and House Made Hospitality Creative Director, Scott Brown says, “Lana is a dining experience with sharing and generosity at its core – where the team adds to the relaxed but upbeat atmosphere, tables are filled with plates of food, and drinks are varied and often. It’s a place for all occasions – from sandals to stilettos.”

The highly anticipated launch of Lana follows the recent openings of sister restaurant Grana, an all-day dining hub on the ground floor and brother bar in the basement, the Sicilian bandits’ drinking den, Apollonia.

With the Hinchcliff House event space nearing completion on the top floor, Hinchcliff House is expecting to
embrace many new faces over the coming weeks.

“Since opening Apollonia and Grana, people have been quite receptive to us and we feel honoured to have been so quickly accepted by the local community. With the addition of our elevated-casual Lana offering we hope to warm the hearts of even more Sydneysiders and visiting travellers alike,” continues Scott.

The opening of Hinchcliff House is just a taste of what is to come in Quay Quarter Sydney’s transformational development in Circular Quay. Quay Quarter Lanes retail will be operational and ready for launch in September 2021 and Quay Quarter Tower will open in early 2022. The new dining, wellbeing and lifestyle retail aims to make Quay Quarter a lively neighbourhood surrounded by natural beauty, iconic architecture and busy commerce.
