While opening its doors to a totally new look, Paradise Resort Gold Coast has maintained its now well-established position as being voted “Best Family Hotel/Resort in Australia” by readers of leading family travel magazine Out & About with Kids.
The recently refurbished resort in the heart of Surfers Paradise has won the accolade for the previous three years, and the sixth year in total, in the ten years that the awards have been operating.
The 2020 Out & About with Kids Readers’ Choice Awards attracted more than 80,000 votes cast by readers across 42 categories, showcasing the best in family travel.
Paradise Resort’s award follows the completion of stage one of a multi-faceted upgrade to the resort’s public areas, restaurants, and recreation facilities.
Guests have responded outstandingly to the stylish and colourful new lobby and reception, with the resort’s coastal location and flavour reflected immediately by a large and colourful aquarium – a signature feature of the hotel’s owner, Dr Jerry Schwartz.
The makeover of the resort also includes a new games room, guest laundry and retail boutique, along with new food and beverage outlets. The resort now offers Penguins family restaurant, Debs Pizza Shack, the Poolside Café and Bar and Jerrys Burgers – home to the now legendary Giant Jerry Burger.
At the heart of Paradise Resort’s success with families is its multi-million dollar kids recreation facilities, with the massive Waterpark, Adventure Playground and PLANET CHILL ice-skating rink all fully refurbished and upgraded.
The exterior and interiors have been freshly repainted, high-speed Wi-fi has been extended throughout the resort, a new environmentally-friendly ducted air-conditioning system has been installed, and a new telephone system introduced allowing free guest calls locally and nationally.
The next stage of upgrading will include an adults-only pool, bar and lounge, offering an area exclusive for parents to enjoy, set to open in early 2021.
Additional kids’ facilities coming later in the year include a miniature train and a carousel.
