Corona has dominated our lives for the last eleven months. Tourism was severely affected from the beginning.

Hotels had to close for tourist overnight stays during the first lockdown in the spring of 2020 and since November the doors have been closed again. This poses major challenges for hoteliers worldwide.

Some of the Green Pearls® hoteliers are braving the situation and using the time for renovations and the implementation of new ideas.

Biohotel Sturm

Christa and Matthias Schulze Dieckhoff decided on their “Corona attack”, as they call it, in December, and they started their renovation of the rooms of the Biohotel Sturm the same month. All bathrooms received new fittings, faucets, showerheads, hairdryers, and other accessories, and the lighting was also partly renewed. On the 2nd floor, the rooms are being completely renovated. Clay plaster and regional oak wood will be used, fabrics and curtains will be adapted to the new colour concept.

The former “Sonnenstube” (Sun Lounge) will become a modern room with plenty of space for guests. There is room for larger buffets and new seating made of natural materials by the fireplace that invites guests to linger.

In the spa area, selected fabrics and warm colours create a feel-good ambience.

The technical equipment is also being upgraded: the heating and electrical systems are being modernised and the exterior walls are being ecologically insulated.

With the reopening after Corona’s forced break, guests can expect a new culinary concept that is also about sharpening the senses. Not too much is being revealed yet, but we will keep you informed as we learn more!
