Ginger Bhubaneshwar is one of the official self-quarantine centres in Orrisa. During this test of time, our Bhubaneshwar hotel team, led by the hotel manager Shantanu Kumar Das, has been rock solid and has been serving quarantined guests exceptionally well. Shantanu has been multi-tasking and donning many hats to handle different situations – from the preparation of the hotel as a quarantine centre to handling concerns of the parents of the front-line team who were concerned about the health and security of their kin.

Saurabh Kumar – Restaurant Manager

Saurabh Kumar Singh, the Restaurant Manager at Ginger Bhubaneshwar, has taken a greater responsibility and turned out to be a champion.  During this time, Saurabh Kumar Singh emerged as a leader and took the lead, not only to look after his domain but also has held other departments together. On 19th March, Ginger Bhubaneshwar hosted their first self-quarantine guest for whom he handled the check-in and also stayed back till the last check-in of the day. He handled the guest from their reservation process to check-in to stay and also arranged for food to be delivered to their room as required. He also undertook additional responsibilities of coordinating with the BMC officials, doctor’s squad and medical team, while pledging 24/7 support to the hotel manager.

Mohit Sharma & Sagnik Bhattacharya – Houskeeping, Taj Mahal, New Delhi

Two warriors of the Taj Mahal housekeeping team are Mohit Sharma and Sagnik Bhattacharya. Both Mohit and Sagnik have volunteered to be a part of the hotel taskforce to extend their services to those guests who have been stranded in the hotel due to the lockdown. Mohit and Sagnik not only volunteered to put up in the hotel but have also taken complete ownership in taking charge of the planning and organizing of all housekeeping operations – rooms, laundry, public areas, horticulture, pest control and support to allied departments to ensure smooth operation, hygiene and  safety of all guests and associates at the hotel. Working long hours to ensure that no task is missed out before calling it a day has not left them physically tired – in fact, it has given them renewed vigour and even more strength and confidence to prepare for the fight the next day and come out victorious.
