Continuing to provide family fun designed in accordance with rigorous health and safety standards, Gaylord Hotels is excited to unveil its new Winter at Gaylord Hotels programming taking place at Gaylord Rockies in Colorado, Gaylord Palms in Florida, Gaylord Opryland in Tennessee, and Gaylord Texan in Texas. Offering extended weekend fun through March 21, 2021 at select locations, Gaylord Hotels presents a range of socially distanced indoor and outdoor experiences like the brand-new Winterfest, inclusive of extended holiday activities for never-ending fun, and Pirate and Princess Weekends with immersive adventures for all.
Guests will experience dazzling live performances, outdoor fun in the snow, and themed water park play, as part of an exciting lineup of winter events and activities:
Winterfest 2021
This new event will take place at Gaylord Rockies, Gaylord Opryland and Gaylord Texan. The aptly-named Winterfest offers guests a wide array of winter-themed indoor and outdoor activities and special live entertainment embracing the very best of the season.
At Gaylord Rockies, Guests are also invited to take part in snow tubing, ice skating and outdoor ice bumper cars at Glacier Point, as well as Colorado-themed scavenger hunts, and the Snow Ball, a silent disco hosted by Jack Frost himself. Adults can also take advantage of winter rejuvenation at Relâche Spa for seasonal treatments. Visitors can catch the magic of the winter-themed LIGHT! exhibit, an artistic take on the wind inspired by the high gusts across the Mile-High City and their effect on the landscapes of Colorado. Because Mother Nature is the designer, each installation is constantly evolving, never appearing the same way twice.
Gaylord Opryland continues to welcome guests to its Pinetop outdoor village, where there is plenty of space for enjoying oversized light displays, live performances, tubing, ice skating and lessons, ice bumper cars, winter warmer beverages and an all-new, live Fire & Ice Skating Show featuring champion skaters, big jumps, fast spins and awe-inspiring throws and lifts. Guests can travel down the scenic indoor river on the Winter Riverboat Ride and navigate the resort for clues to earn a special prize during Jack Frost’s Frigid Finds Scavenger Hunt. Guests already longing for warmer weather can take advantage of the SoundWaves Experience Package, offering a one-night stay plus wristbands to enjoy the 84-degree, indoor aquatic experience.
Live Winter Entertainment
Winterfest at Gaylord Texan invites guests to experience a thrilling lineup of live and socially-distanced performances including: Illusionist Shows, wowing visitors with show-stopping magic and grand illusions performed by famed entertainer, Jason Bishop; interactive comedy improv shows by critically acclaimed comedy troupe Four Day Weekend; music by The Pack – Tribute to Frank, Dean and Sammy; classic country favorites from The Garth Guy, the ultimate Garth Brooks Tribute show; and Britain’s Finest Band, featuring a complete Beatles tribute. In between shows, Gaylord Texan also offers wintery activities such as A Winter Art Studio, Cool Critters Animal Encounters and Winter Escape Rooms.
Pirate and Princess Weekends
In Florida, Gaylord Palms is pleased to announce the return of its popular Pirate and Princess Weekends, featuring activities for families – including both children and adults –inside the resort’s atriums and outside at Cypress Springs Water Park. New to this year’s programming is the Pirate Outpost Invasion show featuring pirates who have invaded the resort’s Everglades atrium in search of The Princess’s precious treasure. Guests will feel immersed in the storyline as they hear tales of adventure, swashbuckling music and enjoy a sip of The Captain’s Brew. Also new is the Pirate Speakeasy, where guests will encounter relics from past treasure-hunting voyages, meet the pirates who scoured the seven seas to retrieve them and drink craft cocktails fit for a true buccaneer.
Returning favorites include a Pirate Pool Party at Cypress Springs Water Park and the interactive Princess Academy show, bringing the tales of The Princess and The Swordmistress to life. Guests can also look for additional themed activities including The Princess’s Shiny Stash Treasure Hunt, dazzling nighttime Pirate & Princess Light Display, the Wildlife Rescue Experience and more.
Winter Packages
In celebration of Winter at Gaylord Hotels programming, each property is offering a special package with discounted starting rates ranging from $169 to $189 per night. The Winterfest Experience Packages at Gaylord Rockies, Gaylord Opryland, and Gaylord Texan combine an overnight stay with tickets to the various themed activities, shows and experience, while the Pirate and Princess Weekends Package at Gaylord Palms offers overnight accommodations plus access to the Pirate Outpost Invasion and a scavenger hunt booklet.
