Television and radio presenter James O’Loghlin has been named as the host of this year’s Cruise360 Australasia conference, heading a packed program of international speakers and panellists who will gather to address the future of the global cruise industry.

Best known as the presenter of ABC TV’s The New Inventors and programs on ABC Local radio, O’Loghlin will act as MC for the August 30 event, to be held at Hyatt Regency Sydney.

O’Loghlin’s role was confirmed today with the release of the full program for Cruise360 Australasia, presented by Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) under the theme #NextGeneration.

CLIA Australasia Managing Director Joel Katz said this year’s conference had already attracted more ticket sales than ever before and was close to selling out.

“The line-up of speakers this year is among the best we’ve ever had and will help delegates develop a clear idea of the future direction of cruising and how industry trends will affect them,” Mr Katz said. “As someone with a keen interest in innovation, James O’Loghlin will help create an event that is both informative and entertaining for attendees and we’re delighted to draw upon his experience as an engaging corporate presenter.”

In addition to speakers already announced, CLIA has confirmed Walkley Award-winning journalist and author Louise Williams will deliver a presentation on the plastics crisis affecting the world’s oceans. At a time when cruise lines are cutting single-use plastics and reducing waste, Louise will discuss why this is important and what travel agents can do to support these initiatives.

International industry leaders taking the stage at Cruise360 Australasia this year include: CLIA Global Chair Adam Goldstein; Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection President & CEO Ellen Bettridge; Virgin Voyages President & CEO Tom McAlpin; Wild Earth Travel General Manager Aaron Russ; and ID Tours New Zealand Executive Director and Chair of the New Zealand Cruise Association Debbie Summers.

CLIA’s 2019 Cruise360 Australasia conference will offer a full-day line-up as well as a trade show for cruise industry exhibitors. It will be preceded by an Executive Partner Product and Destination Showcase as well as a ship inspection aboard Princess Cruises’ Sea Princess on August 29.
