Wine experts judging Business Traveller Magazine’s prestigious annual Cellars in the Sky 2018 competition awarded EVA Air a Gold Medal for the best-presented business class wine list and a Silver Medal for the best business class sparkling selection. These coveted awards are tributes to EVA’s firm commitment to delivering quality service and giving its Royal Laurel Class business passengers amenities and perks comparable to those other airlines provide in first class. Passengers can book flights and learn more about the airline’s excellent services at www.evaair.com.

EVA teamed up with international creative studio JL DESIGN on both its menus and wine lists for Royal Laurel Class. Inspired by the theme, “Home for Every Season,” the designs suggest flying with EVA gives travelers comforts of home, represented by the seasonal bounty of Taiwan’s natural and cultural resources. Each cover uses a different aerial perspective to capture the changing colors of spring, summer, fall and winter, featuring orchards of ripening fruits, fields of flowers, rich farm land, lush green forests and more.

EVA’s silver-medaled sparkling wine is a Delamotte Blanc de Blancs 2007, Champagne, France. It was edged out for the Gold by a Taittinger Comtes de Champagne, Blanc de Blancs 2006, France that Qatar Airways pours in its business class. The 2007 Delamotte Blanc EVA serves is described as fresh and subtle with a long, smooth finish, making it a good choice as an aperitif or dessert and a delightful accompaniment for everything in between.

Business Traveller’s 2018 Cellars in the Sky was its 33rd annual tasting competition and it has been running the event since 1985. Over a two-day judging period, four judges independently scored 240 bottles of wine submitted by 33 of the world’s leading airlines. Cellars in the Sky judges evaluated first and business class Red, White, Sparkling and Fortified/Dessert wines in addition to selecting the Best-Presented Wine Lists and Best Cellars.
