Dublin welcomes you back to new experiences

January 14, 2022 European News No Comments

Bursting with a variety of surprising experiences and a great cup of joe, cosmopolitan city living thrives side by side with the natural outdoors in the vibrant capital of Ireland.

Recently declared the second-most coffee-obsessed capital city on earth, Dublin is overflowing with an exciting range of new hotels, experiences and tours as it welcomes back international travellers.

There are 181 coffee shops for every 100,000 people in Dublin, which is the second highest concentration on the list of top ten capital cities surveyed recently by Brew Smartly. Only Pago Pago, the capital of American Samoa, has a higher concentration of coffee shops per person.

In a city renowned as the home of Guinness, Dublin’s thriving coffee culture has an identity all of its own, and combined with the riches of traditional Irish culture, as well as literature, history, iconic attractions, food, shopping, stories, events and mountain-to-sea outdoor adventure, the Irish capital has everything you need for an amazing holiday.

Increasing value and choice, there are 24 fantastic new hotels in the pipeline for Dublin in the next couple of years, with Hampton by Hilton Dublin Four Courts, the Beckett Locke aparthotel next to the 3Arena and the Wren Urban Nest in St Andrew’s Lane among those opening this summer.

Other recent additions where you can enjoy a traditional Céad Míle Fáilte – a hundred thousand welcomes – include the Hyatt Centric Liberties, the Hard Rock Hotel, the Moxy Dublin and The Grafton Hotel, only steps from the renowned Grafton Street shopping and St Stephen’s Green.

Also look out for the Holiday Inn at Dublin Airport, The Mayson in the city’s Docklands, the Wilder Townhouse, a residents only luxury boutique hotel in the city centre, and The Georgian Rooms located in Howth, one of the many coastal villages that lie close to the Irish capital.

Accommodation booked and coffee fix secured, the new Dublin Highlights and Hidden Corners walking tour will show you many of the city’s icons and guide you to some wonderful hidden spots too. If you are looking for a relatively comprehensive tour that gives you the best taste of Dublin on both sides of the River Liffey then this is the way to go.

Otherwise, discover the Dublin that locals and travellers alike love with Alternative Tours Dublin. Created for those who don’t quite follow the crowd, these tours delve a little deeper into Dublin for unusual nights out, offbeat activities and quirky experiences of the capital.

For those staying in or near Howth, join a Hidden Howth Experiences tour and take a culinary adventure that will delight all of your senses. Howth is a foodie haven set amid magnificent coastal scenery and a lovely fishing village vibe and is home to numerous walks and activities, including a magnificent cliff walk that offers superb views of the water and Dublin city.

Spectacular natural sights are never far away in Dublin. The Dublin Mountains are potential-packed, filled with manageable walks, challenging hikes and exhilarating mountain biking trails, while a day trip on the train around the Dublin Bay coastline will be punctuated by picturesque towns and charming villages full of beauty, secret beaches, quirky shops, tasty seafood and salty sea air.

With diverse young voices, an ever-changing cultural landscape, and new experiences constantly popping up, a trip to Dublin is like taking a great big breath of fresh air.
