Kintetsu Railway, a leading railway in Kansai, Japan has appointed Sydney-based cross-cultural consultancy doq® to lead their tourism communications in Australia as of July.

doq® – which specialises in Japan tourism marketing and has worked closely with clients such as Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), Tokyo Disney Resort and Hoshino Resorts – will work to attract more inbound travellers to use the rail network when they travel throughout Japan’s Kansai region.

Often seen as Kansai’s backbone of transport, the Kintetsu Railway connects all major cities in the region including Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and Mie as well as Nagoya.

The Kintetsu Railway offers fast, frequent and affordable transportation for travellers planning to visit some of Japan’s most vibrant and memorable attractions.

Such attractions include Kyoto’s architecture and traditional beauty, Osaka’s night life and street food, Nara’s history and nature and Mie’s coastal sea views. Kintetsu Railway offer four exclusive Rail Pass options to visitors of Japan, making their journey simple and flexible.

With over 80,000 people arriving at Kansai International Airport daily, the number of international travellers visiting Kansai has been steadily increasing.

Yoshinori Sakuno, Founder and Group Managing Director of doq® said “Kintetsu plays such an important role in the Kansai region where an increasing number of Australians have been visiting every year.

“I have fond childhood memories of using the Kintetsu Railway from Nanba in Osaka to Ise City in Mie to visit my grandparents almost every school holidays. I am very grateful from both a personal and professional perspective for doq® to work as the representative for Kintetsu Railway in Australia.”
