Melbourne’s only underwater dining experience is reopening on Friday 6 November and – for the first time ever – taking private lunch bookings.

Even though SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium isn’t reopening in its official capacity until the Last Step in Victoria’s COVID-19 roadmap, the team is relaunching the exclusive Private Dining experience very soon. Evening bookings will continue to be offered once the aquarium resumes regular opening hours, however, lunch reservations are available for a limited time only.

Open to guests of all ages, the Private Dining packages include a self-guided tour of the entire aquarium, a three-course dinner and a two-hour beverage package for 10 people.

Guests can choose from one of seven spectacular settings including the Mermaid Garden with panoramic views of the aquarium’s largest fish, the new Ocean Invaders exhibit teeming with various species of gently pulsing jellyfish, or among the playful penguins in the Antarctica zone.

There is also the option to dine outdoors overlooking the Yarra River and the Southbank skyline.

“We are looking forward to welcoming guests back to SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium from 6 November. We may not be able to resume our regular opening hours just yet, but we are thrilled to be able to host intimate groups for lunch or dinner among the aquatic animals. Our team has been working incredibly hard behind the scenes to ensure we are COVIDSafe, and we are ready to treat Melbournians to an unforgettable day or night out,” said Katie Isaac, General Manager of SEA LIFE Melbourne Aquarium.

Groups can book out one of the private spaces for an intimate lunch or dinner for 10 people for a minimum spend of $2,000. Those looking to dine with groups of less than 10 people can put their name on a waitlist to be contacted once smaller group dining becomes available.
